The Coalition for Educational Funding is proud to provide limited financial services for CEF members through an agreement with Linebarger, Attorneys at Law. Jim Schiele is the school finance consultant for Linebarger and will be available to consult with members regarding finance and operational needs. Jim has been a consultant for Linebarger for the past five years, working with clients in all phases of budget, CFO coaching, revenue projection/state aid template assistance, finance data reviews, finance management reviews and more.

As a former registered Texas School Business Administrator, Jim Schiele assists member school districts with funding and budget questions, leveraging his 25 years of experience in school finance.
Jim served as chief financial officer for Saginaw-Eagle Mountain ISD for more than a decade and has established himself as a trusted school finance expert who helps clients navigate finance and operational requirements for districts with a range of challenges. He joined Linebarger in 2021.
Jim began his career as a CPA, where he focused on auditing governmental clients and quickly recognized the dilemmas school officials face balancing quality education with declining state appropriations.
In 1997, he joined Carroll ISD as the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. In 2004, he was named Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations at Duncanville ISD, a school district with slow growth. Jim then joined one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas, spending more than a decade as Chief Financial Officer
